Question: Can someone curse a Christian?
Answer: Of course someone can choose to speak death over a person or situation and that would be a curse. Any thing spoken that is demonically empowered is a curse. If demons take the words of a person, Christian or non-Christian, and try to perform them then a curse has been released. God speaks clearly in His Word that we are to bless those who persecute us and speak against us (Romans 12:14). We are not to use the power of our words to speak negatively into situations. Read More
Question: I am hearing a lot about a born again believer being referred to as a son of God and even as a little god, is this biblical?
Answer: As believer’s we need to come to an understanding of who we are in Christ. We need to understand who Jesus really is as well as what relationship we are to have with the Heavenly Father. It is essential to know how the Holy Spirit works in the believer. As we mature in our relationship with God, we will have fellowship with God the Father, Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Try not to intellectually or legalistically separate the Godhead to such a degree that you no longer have the freedom to just pray and speak to God without questioning whom you should be talking with. God is One and we cannot put the mysteries of this awesome God into our little theological boxes. Read More
Question: How are believers in Jesus Christ actually sons and daughters of God?
Answer: We are going to examine the scriptural references to the "sons of God" that we find in the New Testament. In Luke 20:36 Jesus explains that when we go to heaven we will be like the angels and not be married. He then calls the people in heaven sons of God and sons of the resurrection. Read More
Question: What do you believe must happen before the church age will end and Christ will return?
Answer: I am not an expert on end time prophecy. I recommend you study teachings by these Bible teachers since they focus on end time prophecy: Perry Stone, Mike Bickle and John Hagee. I will tell you what I feel the Holy Spirit has revealed to me about the condition of the Church and the process of the Bride being prepared for the end time move of God. First I believe that God is still in the process of restoring the Church to the place she held prior to the dark ages. After the restoration of the five- fold ministry is complete with true authority and power, I believe that the latter rain outpouring will begin in earnest. Read More
Question: I am tired of comparing myself to others. I know the Bible tells us it is unwise to compare yourself to someone else but how do I stop?
Answer: I asked the Lord that very thing one day after hosting a pastor’s conference. I noticed that everyone seemed to subtly boast of what their ministry or church was doing for the Lord. Though I know they understood that God was of course the One to receive the glory, it still seemed to have a competitive spirit about it. I cried out to God to reveal what was in my heart (and the heart of so many of us) and He told me to look up the word: contention. The definition of contention is to strive to be superior (the Lord spoke to my heart that it also means to strive not to be inferior). I told the Lord that it was easy to ask us not to be contentious but actually we seem to judge everything. Read More
Question: What is the difference between condemnation and conviction?
No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, is in the bosom of the Father, that One declares Him. ( John 1:18I believe that Jesus is the very essence of God and comes from within the majesty and glory of God the Father.
Question: How do you cultivate a deeper intimacy with Christ?
Answer: The Bible tells us to draw near to God and He will draw near to us ( James 4:8 ). This scripture indicates a powerful truth to growing in your relationship with God. You determine the intensity of your relationship with God. To cultivate a deeper intimacy with Christ we must set apart time to study the Word of God. I love to put on worship music and lift my hands and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to me in the Word. When I feel His presence intensify, I open my Bible and request that He show me something about Jesus that I had never thought about before. Time after time a scripture pops into my thinking and when I look up the verse, the Holy Spirit reveals another facet of Jesus. Read More
Question: How can you stay in a sour marriage? Neither my spouse nor I have been unfaithful and we are both Christians, but we no longer want to be around one another. We do have school age children to consider but is divorce really wrong?
Answer: One has to understand the symbolic meaning of marriage to understand why God does not permit a Christian couple to divorce except when adultery is involved (Matt 5:32). Marriage is very precious to the heart of God. The Bible indicates the theme of a bride in preparation for a marriage (Rev 21:9 &22:17). Jesus is the bridegroom and we the church are to be the perfected bride. The Holy Spirit lives in the true believer to bring about this work of sanctification that will produce holiness (bride without spot or blemish Eph 5:22-33). God intended for the natural marriage between a man and a woman to reflect the futuristic marriage of the Lord Jesus Christ to the overcoming Church. Read More
Question: I have heard people refer to the “Baptism of the Holy Spirit”. What is it? Is this a valid experience for today? Should Christians seek this baptism? How does one know if they have experienced it?
Answer: I would like to share how I personally experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I was in a denominational church at the time that I began to seek after God. As a young girl I recall watching a television preacher who led me in a prayer to accept Jesus as Lord of my life. However, it was many years later, after the birth of my first child, that I began to seek to know Jesus in a deeper way. I had attended a mother’s morning out-group and was intrigued as one of the hosts of the meeting shared how Jesus had helped her cope with the responsibilities of getting to the meeting. It was as if she actually knew Jesus. Read More
Question: Should a Christian seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit? How does one know if they have received this Baptism? (Last month we explained the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, you can find the column here)
Answer: Many people don’t realize that after the resurrection Jesus walked the earth and ministered to His disciples for forty days. I believe that those who trusted in His death and resurrection were born again by His Spirit during those days. To experience salvation, one needs to believe with their heart (belief is of the heart or spirit of a person) and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and is Lord. (See Romans 9:9-10) Jesus reveals that one must be born of the Holy Spirit to have the salvation experience. (See John 3:3) Read More
Question: What is the Holy Spirit revealing to you concerning the next move of God?
Answer: God has been restoring the church since the dark ages. Martin Luther broke away from the Catholic Church after encountering the Holy Spirit. If you study Church history, you will see the emergence of the pastors being restored. Church life became more about fellowship in small groups of believers with one person overseeing who truly cares for the ones that God sends to them. The denominational churches came on the scene with the Protestant church forming from the enlightened former Catholics. Years passed and the evangelical movement came to the forefront. We now learned the importance of being born again of the Holy Spirit. Read More
Question: How can we prepare for the awesome move of God on the horizon?
Answer: We need to allow the work of the Holy Spirit to heal the broken places in our lives. The Holy Spirit has been sent by our Lord Jesus Christ to teach us all His truths. He is the comforter. He is the One who is going to reveal Jesus and His unconditional LOVE. Until we deal with the coping mechanism that we have chosen to handle the junk that satan has thrown our way, those false ways of coping will actually be a hindrance to our finding freedom in Christ. Many of us have hidden past hurts deep inside our minds. Some have taken on different levels of denial. Others have made excuses or blaming others (even God) for all areas of failure or disappointment in their life. Read More

Question: How can people know that they are led by the Holy Spirit and not by anything else?
Answer: First I want you to understand that people can be led by their own desires and opinions, even when they profess to be led by the Holy Spirit. As we study the Word of God and seek the Lord’s guidance we will begin to be led by the Holy Spirit. A key is to become a doer and not a hearer only of God’s Word. For example, when the Word instructs us to put off gossip and malice, we need to recognize where we have participated and/or are still participating in these fleshly (even demonic) activities. We must allow the Holy Spirit to examine our hearts and then confess our sin and ask for forgiveness. Read More
Question: Why are some people not healed even when they believe that divine healing is for today?
Answer: God has placed many spiritual laws into existence, just as we have many natural laws (such as gravity). It is impossible to please God without faith, this is a spiritual reality. Faith is the substance of things hoped for but not seen. Faith means trusting in God and His Word. To trust in God we must truly know Him. We have to spend time in His presence; fellowshipping with Him by the Holy Spirit. We also must renew our minds and study His Word. Read More
